Our gullet steel lengths offer has been extended, with the resulting benefits! 

Now we also offer an extra long manufactured gullet plate for horses with very high withers! This is only one of many details of the special saddle tree manufactured in our company. Our greatest attention is paid to the dispersion of pressure. In order to effectively relieve the withers and the trapezius muscles, it is absolutely necessary, depending on the type of withers, to be able to vary not only the width of the chambers, but also the length of the gullet steel.

The more pronounced the withers, the longer the gullet steel must be. Otherwise the saddle sags under the rider’s weight and the tensile forces tighten the skin over the spinous processes (withers) too much. Due to the increased pressure, the horse can no longer be positioned and bent and its back activity is restricted.

In combination with the different gullet lengths and a widening of the point ends, we achieve a doubling of the contact surface in the head area. This considerably reduces the pressure on the muscles (better muscle development). This is not only applied to our dressage saddles, but even more so to our jumping saddles, in order to minimize the enormous pressure load in the landing phase.

In combination with our special NZT model with additional shock-absorbing effect, the gullet length adjustment represents a further innovation in the direction of orthopedic comfort for horse and rider.
